XFP 10G ER Transceiver 1550nm SMF 40km LC DOM
Description
This XFP 10G ER transceiver is designed for 9.95Gbps to 11.1Gbps data transmission applications, which supports up to 40km over a standard pair of single-mode fiber (SMF) at 1550nm via an LC duplex connector.
The XFP 10G ER transceiver consists of two sections: The transmitter section incorporates a 1550nm cooled EML, driver and re-timer. The receiver section consists of a PIN photodiode integrated with a trans-impedance preamplifier (TIA) and CDR. The module is hot pluggable into the 30-pin connector. The high-speed electrical interface is based on low voltage logic, with nominal 100 Ohms differential impedance and AC coupled in the module. The optical output can be disabled by LVTTL logic high-level input of TX_DIS. Loss of signal (RX_LOS) output is provided to indicate the loss of an input optical signal of receiver.
A serial EEPROM in the XFP 10G ER transceiver allows the user to access transceiver monitoring and configuration data via the 2-wire XFP Management Interface. This interface uses a single address, A0h, with a memory map divided into a lower and upper area. Basic digital diagnostic (DOM) data is held in the lower area while specific data is held in a series of tables in the high memory area.
It is compliant with the current Multi-Source Agreement (MSA) Specification, 10-Gigabit Ethernet 10GBASE-ER/EW per IEEE 802.3ae and 10G Fiber Channel.
