Description

This 10G BiDi eLR Small Form Factor Pluggable SFP+ transceiver is designed for use in 10Gigabit Ethernet links up to 20km over a single-strand Single Mode fiber. This capability doubles the capacity of installed legacy single mode fiber links.

The transceiver consists of two parts: the transmitter section uses a multiple quantum well 1270nm DFB laser, which is a class 1 laser compliant according to International Safety Standard IEC-60825. The receiver section uses a 1330nm integrated InGaAs detector preamplifier (IDP) mounted in an optical header and a limiting post-amplifier IC.

Built with hardened components, this SFP+ BIDI LR industrial transceiver is ruggedly designed to withstand extended industrial temperatures from -40°C to 85°C. It is suitable for extreme industrial environments such as telecommunication, data processing and management, industrial and factory automation, machine control, surveillance, mining, oil and gas, rail, intelligent transportation systems (ITSs), and other outdoor applications.

The bidirectional transceivers are compliant with SFF-8431 and IEEE 802.3ae 10GBASE-LR/LW, and 10G Fibre Channel 1200-SM-LL-L. Digital diagnostics functions are available via a 2-wire serial interface, as specified in SFF-8472, which provides real-time monitoring of the transceiver temperature, laser bias current, optical power, received optical power and transceiver supply voltage
